Dr. Mallasi joined AECOM as an Architectural Design BIM Lead to support integration of digital tools and implementation of BIM.
He has a rather unique background with passion for innovation in the digital design processes that inspire practice to produce unique built environments. Prior to that, he worked Six years as an Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture and Design, Effat University. He taught and explored design computation research with interests in: parametric modeling, visualization, digital fabrication, design studio, performance driven design, BIM, Virtual Design & Construction, and energy analysis.
He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Khartoum and holds Master Degree from the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College London focusing on the Construction of Virtual Environments. Following on from his PhD in the applications of 4D-BIM in Architecture and Construction, from the University of Teesside (2004), he worked Six years as an Architectural BIM Specialist at Perkins + Will, Atlanta, USA working on K12 and Healthcare project. He also taught part-time at Georgia Tech. BIM Theory and Applications for architecture and construction students and has participated in various speaking engagements.
