Richard is currently Director of Engineering with the Hilton brand.

In 1980, he was the youngest Director of Engineering at Marriott Hotels. He has also been a Director for Starwood at three properties. He was an Area Engineer for InterContinental Hotels for  4 years in Los Angeles.

Richard spent five, cold years in Yellowstone Park as Director of Facilities over all six villages  with a staff of 120 for the 2,200 accommodations and 1,700 campsites. Nearly $9 million dollars were spent annually on construction projects in the over 800 structures Richard and crew maintained.  During the winters, observations and inspections were accomplished on the back of a snowmobile since the park is closed to the public and roads did not get plowed.  

Richard  was Eastern Regional Manager of Construction and Engineering for Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate in Washington, DC when he managed the construction of nearly 200,000 sq. ft. of space in Stamford Towers , Connecticut, for Citi Bank POS. CBRE later moved him to Los Angeles to become Western Regional  Manager. Richard traveled frequently to many west coast cities to manage construction of tenant improvement projects for CB Commercial.
